About Irish Women Abroad
Irish Women Abroad was set up by Sarah Whelan in 2019 to help Irish Women navigate some of the challenges they face when living abroad or when deciding it’s time to return to Ireland.
Our new website covers events and genuine support and access to the best Irish businesses around the globe to help you overcome the challenges you may face living abroad or returning home to Ireland.
Irish Women Abroad is an inclusive, warm and diverse community of Irish women talking about all things home.
We have one mission: providing connection, support and inspiration for Irish women talking about all things home.
We have over 6,000 in our Facebook Community and 4,800 followers on Instagram.
What is the Business Directory?

A listing in the Directory gives your business its very own page on the Irish Women Abroad website, where you can outline your business services through words, photos, reviews, and include all the ways for readers to find out more or get in touch.

FAQs
- Choose from one of the plan options above – Emerald or Diamond.
- You will be taken to an online form to fill out your directory listing.
- Fill out the form and press ‘Save & Preview’.
- After previewing how your listing will look in the directory, press ‘edit’ to make further changes, or ‘Pay & Publish’ to finalise.
- Put in your payment details and press Proceed.
- Your listing is now pending for review! Please allow 2-3 business days for your listing to show up in the directory. You will be notified via email when this is done.
- Your account is also created and you will be logged in. Please see your emails for your login details.
Yes, it definitely is if you:
- Have multiple businesses to list in the directory.
- Want to add a video in your listing.
- Want to include FAQs, tags or events with your listing.
- Need to show more than 5 photos in your listing gallery.
- Want to have your business included on our newsletter and shared on our social media!
Absolutely you can! This is how:
- Log in to your account in the top right corner (click the head icon).
- After logging in, hover over the head icon in the top right corner and select ‘Dashboard’.
- Select ‘Listings’ from the sidebar.
- Find the listing you want to edit, then click the three dots on the right hand side. Then press ‘Edit’.
- Make your edits, then select ‘Update & Preview’.
- Log in to your account in the top right corner (click the head icon).
- After logging in, hover over the head icon in the top right corner and select ‘Dashboard’.
- Select ‘Subscriptions’ from the sidebar.
- Click ‘unsubscribe’.
- Your listings will still be visible on the site until the expiry date.
- It is important to make sure that you are logged in.
- Log in to your account in the top right corner (click the head icon).
- After logging in, go to ‘Add a Listing’ in the top right corner.
- You will see ‘Active’ on the Diamond plan. Choose plan.
- You may now add a listing, it will be counted towards the 5 total business listings.
- You will still need to wait for approval before seeing your listing in the directory.
